Black Fascia and Eavestrough Project in Lisgar, Mississauga

Lisgar home in Mississauga with black fascia, frieze-board cladding, eavestroughs and downspouts, retaining light soffit.

Black fascia, frieze-board cladding, eavestroughs and downspouts in Lisgar, Mississauga; existing light soffit retained.

For this Lisgar fascia and eavestrough project in Mississauga, Maxima Aluminum LTD replaced the aluminum fascia, clad the frieze-board trim and installed new eavestroughs and downspouts. The existing light-coloured soffit stayed in place.

Black fascia to match the new windows

The colour scheme was chosen to match the home’s new black windows. Black fascia now outlines the roof edges, while the eavestroughs and downspouts continue the same finish around the house. The lighter soffit provides a clear contrast under the eaves.

This two-tone roofline ties the trim and drainage components together without changing every part of the exterior. The project photo shows the black roof-edge details against the light walls, with the Maxima lawn sign in front.

Frieze board cladding and new eavestroughs

Frieze board cladding covers the trim where the top of the wall meets the soffit. Here, that trim was clad in black to coordinate with the fascia. Keeping these adjoining details in the same colour gives the roofline a consistent outline.

The new eavestroughs and downspouts were also installed in black. Their colour forms part of the finished appearance, alongside their role in collecting and carrying roof runoff.

Can the existing soffit stay?

On this job, it did. The scope included fascia replacement, frieze board cladding and new gutters, while retaining the old soffit. For another home, we assess the condition of the existing components before recommending what to retain or replace.
