WSIB, Safety & Permits
For homeowner-contracted residential projects, WSIB coverage is not legally required for company owners under Ontario’s home renovation exemption.
Our installation crews maintain valid WSIB clearance certificates at all times, and we carry $2,000,000 liability insurance for your protection.
If WSIB coverage is specifically requested for a project, Maxima Aluminum LTD can obtain and provide it immediately.
Safety training:Working at Heights and WHMIS training proof is available upon request (crew-specific for the team assigned to your project).
Permits: Permits are typically not required for gutter, soffit, fascia, siding, or aluminum cladding. If a permit is required (rare), the homeowner is responsible unless otherwise stated in the estimate/contract.
Five (5) years from the date your project is completed. Applies to new installations only; proof of service purchase is required.
Do you cover materials too?
Materials are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty (often 20+ years). We assist with manufacturer claims; manufacturer obligations remain with the manufacturer.
What maintenance is required to keep coverage?
Keep gutters clear of debris, ensure downspout extensions are open, and avoid impact/ladder damage to aluminum. Neglect or misuse can void coverage.
Is the warranty transferable if I sell my home?
Workmanship warranty (Maxima): Non-transferable. It applies to the original purchaser and the original property address. Materials warranty (manufacturer): Some products (e.g., certain ALU-REX lines) have their own terms and may allow transfer under specific conditions (such as proof of purchase, registration, or time limits). Check the product’s warranty document; we’re happy to help confirm eligibility and process any transfer paperwork.
